What Can You Do When Strong Wind Damages Rain Covers?
2026-06-12
Sometimes the Problem Is Not the Material
When a rain cover breaks, many people think they need a heavier material.
A. 150gsm becomes 170gsm.
B. 170gsm becomes 200gsm.
But in many cases, the real problem is not the weight of the material.
When strong wind hits the rain cover, pressure builds up on the cover surface. The cover keeps taking the force from the wind.
After a long time, the stitching, fixing points, and edges may become weak.
So adding more weight is not always the best solution.
Sometimes it is better to let the wind go through.
A Different Structure
This new rain cover has a special structur
The lower part is made with woven film + mesh + woven film sewn together.
Then another woven film layer is added on the top.
When wind passes over the cover, part of the air can move through the middle section.
This helps release wind pressure.
Because there is less pressure on the cover, the pulling force from the wind is also reduced.
At the same time, the top woven film still blocks the rain.
So the cover can reduce wind damage while keeping its rain protection function.
Two Options Available
This rain cover can be made in two different styles.
Option 1: With Mesh
The middle section can include mesh.
The mesh can be bird net, hail net, or other types according to customer needs.
This option gives airflow and extra crop protection at the same time.
Option 2: Open Middle Section
The middle section can also be left open without mesh.
This gives better airflow and helps release wind pressure more easily.
Some growers prefer this design when bird or hail protection is not needed.
Custom Made for Different Projects
Every farm is different. Some areas have strong wind. Some need bird protection. Some need hail protection.
Because of this, we do not only make one standard design.
The width, length, GSM, color, mesh type, and structure can all be adjusted according to customer requirements.
If you have a special project, we can also help make a new design based on your needs.
